Asaluyeh Airport

The Persian Gulf Airport of Assaluyeh is an airport in Assaluyeh, in the southern Iran and on the Persian Gulf coast. Despite its small size, it has one of the most equipped passenger terminals in international standards and has been established with the aim of easy and quick movement of domestic and foreign specialists in this area. Currently, six major airlines in the country are providing travel and air services at this airport, and an average of about 2,000 passengers are transported from the Persian Gulf International Airport in Assaluyeh each day. Also, the establishment of 60 to 80 sorties per day (aircraft and helicopters) is one of the highlights of the airport .

Due to the strategic location of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone and in line with exploitation of oil and gas resources, attracting domestic and foreign investments, job creation at regional and transregional levels, using foreign capital and specialist forces, the project of airport construction in accordance with international standards began in June 2003 and was completed in March 2006. The airport is equipped with a 4000-meter-long runway and a width of 45 meters with two shoulders of 7.5 meters .

Currently, this airport with 10 daily flights (average), round-trip (20 sorties) on different air routes and transporting at least 1900 passengers per day, is the 10th most trafficked and active airport in the country, which will be increased due to the launch of the site of two regions (North Pars Gas Field Project) as well as foreign flights. The airport's nominal capacity is 750,000 passengers per year, which is now 90% of its nominal capacity, and if the necessary infrastructure is ready, it is not unexpected to reach more volumes .
