Kerman Airport

Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani International Airport (KIA) is located in Kerman and Kerman province and is one of the important airports in southeast and central Iran. The airport has two domestic and international terminals and 730,000 foreign and domestic passengers used the facilities of the airport last year. Every week, more than 116 domestic and international flights take place from Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani International Airport .

Initial studies of the construction of the airport began in 1304. In 1935 the construction of the airport began . 

Passenger and cargo transportation began in 1955 with two scheduled flights per week on the Tehran-Kerman-Tehran route. On February 11, 2021, after two years of reconstruction and increasing the area of the domestic terminal, it was completed and now with an area of 7824 square meters and the possibility of responding to more than one million and one hundred thousand passengers annually is in service .

The initial area of Kerman Airport passenger terminal was 600 square meters and the length of the runway was 2600 meters with a width of 45 meters; In 1981 the main band was upgraded to 3860 meters long and 60 meters wide, which was put into operation in 1987 and finally delivered in 1990 .
